Dua When Breaking Fast

Sunan Abi Dawud 2357

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الْأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

Dhahaba adh-dhama’u wabtallatil-‘urooq wa thabatal-ajru in shaa Allah.

The thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.

Sunan Abi Dawud 2358

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي لَكَ صُمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ

Allahumma laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa ‘alayka tawakkaltu wa ‘ala rizqika aftartu.

O Allah, for You I have fasted and upon Your provision I break my fast.

O Allah, You are Most Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلا أَنْتَ

Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana ‘abduka, wa ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wa wa’dika mastata’tu, a’udhu bika min sharri ma sana’tu, abu’u laka bini’matika ‘alayya, wa abu’u bidhanbī faghfir li, fa’innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa anta.

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I am upon Your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I acknowledge my sin — so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.

Simple Istighfar

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilayh.

I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him.

Qur’an 2:201

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina ‘adhaban-nar.

Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Qur’an 2:127

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka Antas-Sami’ul-‘Aleem.

Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Ya Muqallibal-qulub thabbit qalbi ‘ala deenik.

O Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion.

Dua for Halal Rizq

Tirmidhi 3563 · Hasan

اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

Allahummakfini bihalalika ‘an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika ‘amman siwak.

O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful instead of what is unlawful, and make me independent by Your grace from all besides You.
