🤲 Tashahhud: The Sacred Conversation in Prayer

Every Muslim repeats the words of At-Tahiyyat in every salah — but have you ever reflected on their origin?

“All greetings, prayers, and goodness belong to Allah…”

🌙 Origin in the Night Journey (Isra & Mi‘raj)

According to many scholars and narrations, the words of Tashahhud were first exchanged during the miraculous journey of Isra and Mi‘raj.

Spiritual worship scene reflecting the Tashahhud in salah

When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ascended to the heavens and met Allah ﷻ, this divine dialogue unfolded:

  • Prophet ﷺ said: “At-tahiyyatu lillah…” (All greetings are for Allah…)
  • Allah replied: “As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhan-Nabiyyu…” (Peace be upon you, O Prophet…)
  • Prophet responded: “As-salamu ‘alayna wa ‘ala ‘ibadillahis-saliheen…” (Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants…)

Then the **angels testified**: Ashhadu alla ilaha illa Allah…

🕊️ What Makes Tashahhud So Powerful?

  • It’s a **spiritual summary** of our faith
  • It **connects the Prophet ﷺ, the believer, and Allah**
  • It was born in a moment of **divine nearness**

🧎 Sunnah Reflection:

When you sit in tashahhud, don’t rush it. Reflect. This is a sacred exchange

Feel the honor. Whisper the words with presence. It’s more than a recitation — it’s a conversation through time.
