Make Things Easy, Not Difficult — Sahih al-Bukhari 69
“Make things easy and do not make them difficult.”
– Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Sahih al-Bukhari 69)
A Message of Simplicity and Mercy
Islam is a religion of ease, not hardship. This hadith reminds us that kindness, flexibility, and understanding are the essence of faith. When we make life easier for others — through compassion, forgiveness, or patience — we reflect the mercy of Allah in our actions.
Ease Is a Sunnah
The Prophet ﷺ always chose the path of ease when possible. He taught that religion should not be a burden but a source of peace. To follow this Sunnah means:
- Show compassion — be gentle with people’s mistakes.
- Simplify your worship — focus on sincerity, not perfection.
- Avoid harshness — kindness opens hearts faster than criticism.
- Help others — making life easier for someone is an act of charity.
Ease in Daily Life
Ease doesn’t mean laziness — it means balance. It means choosing what brings peace to your heart and others. Examples include smiling instead of arguing, forgiving instead of holding grudges, listening instead of judging, and simplifying your routines and expectations. Spiritual Reflection
When you make things easy, Allah makes ease for you. This is a divine law of mercy — the more you ease others’ burdens, the lighter your own heart becomes. “Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship.” (Qur’an 2:185) Ease is not just a choice — it’s a reflection of faith.
