Welcoming the Islamic New Year: A Spiritual Reset
π 1st Muharram 1447 AH | Islamic New Year Reflections
Today marks the beginning of a new Islamic year. As the sacred month of Muharram begins, we are gifted with a spiritual opportunity β a chance to reset, realign, and renew our intentions with Allah ο·».
π What is Muharram?
Muharram is one of the four sacred months in Islam. The Prophet ο·Ί said: “The best of fasting after Ramadan is in the month of Allah, Al-Muharram.” β [Sahih Muslim]
π« A Time for Reflection
The Islamic calendar isnβt just a system of dates β it is a map of spiritual milestones. As we step into 1447 AH, letβs ask ourselves:
- What do I want to improve in my relationship with Allah?
- How can I live more intentionally with the Sunnah?
- Can I simplify my lifestyle to invite more barakah?

π Sunnah Goals to Begin the Year
π± Here are 5 simple intentions to start the new year strong:
- Begin each day with Bismillah and duβa
- Give a small daily sadaqah (even a smile)
- Fast on the 9th & 10th of Muharram (Tasuβa & Ashura)
- Reconnect with Qurβan β even 5 ayat daily
- Be consistent with your 5 prayers and dhikr
βVerily, actions are judged by intentions…β
β Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί (Bukhari & Muslim)
Let 1447 AH be a year of meaningful change, mindful worship, and barakah-driven goals. May Allah guide our hearts and bless our time. Ameen π€²
